Khiem Tran is the owner and head stylist of Stylistics By Night Salon. He has an creative and extensive ability in hair styling, as he takes an artistic approach to hair design.   His talent and style is portrayed in his work, which you can see in the portfolio.  

Khiem started doing salon work in 1980 in Saigon, Vietnam.   He became an instructor of hair in 1984 and owned one of the most famous salons in Saigon.   At this time, Khiem did a lot of work for celebrities in Vietnam.   Khiem moved to the United States in 1992, and opened salons in Grand Rapids and Bay City.   Currently, He operates and works at the Stylistics By Night Salon in Bay City.  

Khiem Tran has an extensive and knowledgeable history with hair design, and has developed a patent for a pair of scissors with an open ended thumb.   This open end has a hinged portion that creates a joint within the thumb ring.   The length of the shears can vary from 4-1/2 to 5-1/2 inches and would be produced from rust-poof metal.

The appealing features of the open thumb hair cutting scissors would be its convenience, ease of use, compact size, practicality, lightweight, timesavings, durability, and effectiveness. These improved hairstyling scissors would feature an open-ended thumb handle so that the user would have more flexibility and maneuverability while cutting hair, which could contribute to better hairstyling results.
